Sadhaka Studios

Built in the late 1960's "The Old Southern Progress Building" was the perfect envelope to house Sadhaka Studios. We used the entire 3rd floor, nearly 7,000 sq. ft. to develop a cafe, retail space, yoga, pilates and meditation studios.

Fayette Boutique Hotel

Historic Hotel Reno

Back Story: Fayette, Alabama is a small but growing town. Its only hotel in has been closed for over 50 years, and the need for hospitality space is growing. So, the Fayette County Board slated Samford's Senior Class with the task of redesigning the hotel. Our designs were then juried by the board and the top 4 were presented in the Fayette's Gallery with plans to choose one to move forward with. I was very fortunate to be selected in the top 4. This was an exciting time to shine.

The Sun Station

The Sun Station was a team project focused on sustainability. We were given the plans for Barber Motor Speedway's accounting building as our shell and instructed to create something "Green". Beyond that it was our baby, from conception to completion. And it was born...The Sun Station: Electric Car and Human Recharging Station. It takes about 30 minutes to recharge the average electric car. So we needed spaces that could satisfy every individuals needs.

The final result:

-A Cafe

-Yogurt Bar

-Kids Play Area

-Accessible Green Roof

-Environmentally Parking

-"Solar Forest" Charging Area                                     Click to scroll Double Click to Enlarge.

B&B Savannah and The New Nest

This project used the floor plan of the historic Birmingham Casket Co. building. This began as a residential project  focused on aging in place, but I couldn't resist adding a twist. There was extra space on the plan available for use, which became Savannah B&B. The B&B consists of 7 unique suits, a cafe, and wine bar.

Pullman Flats

Here we converted a space from commercial to residential. We we toured the 3,000 sq. ft. Architecture firm that was to be converted into into a main residence and a rental property. We were given files of the existing floor plan, program, and we were off to the races.
